Can you really work out your Sanctification?

chris-karidis-474951-unsplash.jpg

This is your life. A life destined to spend eternity with its Creator; you life was given to you for no other reason but sanctity  – your own and others.

Are your obsessions healthy? Are they obsession of the world, the flesh or perhaps even of the devil? Or are they of God and who He created you to be? Have you settled?

Man’s original task what to be a gardner, but we lost the joy of tilling and keeping the garden – to protect and cultivate all that is in it. Having lost it our new role is WORK – what God has given us for the sake or our salvation. To provide for ourselves BY serving our neighbour. In both cases as before being a gardener or working by the sweat of our brow we were participating in Creation through sub-creation. And Sub-creation is WORK.

Work is God’s gift to us on how to attain Sanctification – sub-creation produces in us sanctification – both out side and inside – thought virtues and graces with are the by product of offering the sweat of our brow for the greater glory of GOD. To allow us to work he gives us time.

Time is the gift of God for Sub-creation – we must fight to fill it, maximize it , grow it and invest it. NEVER waste it. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Write books, blogs, Make music, build something with your hands or build a business, start a podcast, work out, cook food, inspire others. Take control of your family life (your kingdom and domestic church) strengthen your relationships.

Give time your healthy obsessions and change the world by changing yourself. You may not be the best today, but you have time to go to Work and become better by pursuing your goals and dreams letting your soul breath through sub-creation! Become who God has created you to be.

God love you!
Be Great!

The Law of Distraction

piotr-chrobot-276746

We live in an era where we are constantly bombarded by information, advertising and noise through a plethora of stimuli. Sadly those that have given up television or boast about getting rid of cable aren’t so special anymore; simply because you take in media today through a handheld device, a tablet device or a desktop device that has simply replaced the television. We are constantly being taken off task, ever being distracted from the daily things that will surely get us to where we want to go.

You don’t need to be at home on the couch to disengage from the world – you simply need to pick up your phone and browse media. Because of this coupled with zero focus on [and] obsession with 2017 goals we have the perfect recipe for why almost everybody does almost enough but not quite enough to succeed.

Someone once told me that your thoughts become your words, your repeated words become your actions, your repeated actions become your habits and your repeated habits form your character which will ultimately determine where you end up in life.

What are we allowing to dominate our thoughts? For most, isn’t it our problems? And do you think most people spend their time obsessing over solutions to their problems or further stressing and trying to escape them?

I’ll save the writing down goals daily multiple times a day and the effect it has for another article but here’s a critical thinking question I’ve been drilling my team with…

How many times did I touch my phone today for something other than creating my dream life?

What if every time you touched your phone you wrote down your top 3 goals for 2017?

Do you think repeatedly doing it would have an effect on your thoughts, words, actions and habits?

Either we are in control of us or we are victims of the circumstances around us. Ether we dominate our thoughts with our goals or we are robbed of our dream life by the Law of Distraction.

The quality of your life is inversely proportional to the number of distractions you have in your life. ~ Anil Gupta

Episode 13 – My Personal Night Prayer (Non Latin)

Salvete,

Thank you so much for all your prayers and patience. My wife and I are now parents to 3 boys. Benedict is now 2 months old, Baptized, healthy and strong and so is my wife. His brothers are thrilled! We are truly blessed. This has been the main reason for my hiatus. I am back and have been looking forward to pick up from where we left off in publishing. To follow suit with my last post, here is my personal Night Prayer & Examen; Like the my morning offering it is not in Latin but I do hope to translate it one day and learn it. I composed it by taking bits and peices of other prayers that I love and compliing them to suit those things that weigh upon my heart.

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is recorded and will be next to be uploaded to be followed by Chaplet of St. Michael.

I hope this Night Prayer inspires you to write your own and if not, feel free to pray along with me and know that if you are listening to this podcast, that I’m praying for you daily. Please pray for me and my family also.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Sacred Heart of my Lord Jesus Christ, with all Its Love, all its sufferings, and all its merits:

TO EXPIATE all the sins I have committed this day, and during all my life. GB.

TO PURIFY the good I have done poorly this day, and during all my life. GB.

TO SUPPLY for the good I ought to have done, and that I have neglected this day and during all my life GB.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.

Through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and with every beat of our hearts we consecrate ourselves, to your most Sacred Heart O Jesus, that with every breath of our bodies may we breathe in Christ and breathe out sin and all its effects on and in our lives; O Woman of Genesis, crush the head of satan this night, in our hearts, in our flesh and in our home; grant we implore thee Queen of Angels, to bless our home with the powerful presence of thy Holy Angels that they may protect us, guard this space and assist us in receiving the infinite graces of the most Sacred Heart of Jesus through your immaculate hands.

May the infinite graces we receive into our souls transmit Christ’s life into to our bodies that even while we sleep, we may overcome our defects in this life and grow in holiness to become saints. Knowing that I have received rights over my family, by the promulgation of the Divine and Natural Law by the Divine Author, O Blessed Mother through you I now ask Jesus my Lord and my God to Bless and renew my wife and children; strengthen them O Lord that they may grow in holiness and may all that I have asked for this night through the intercession of our Patron Saints, be applied to them. May it also be applied to my extended family, relatives, friends and enemies, particularly those who have requested my prayers. O Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on us. Immaculate Heart of Mary pray for us. O Terror of demons St. Joseph, pray for us. Most Holy Guardian Angels, to whose care & protection our family is entrusted, pray for us. Sts. Michael, Gabriel and Rafael, all you Hosts of Heaven & Saints, intercessors on who we desperately rely to make up for whatever is lacking in our prayer this night, pray for us.

Amen

Credit Where It’s Due

4uojmedcwi8-tim-bogdanov

Continuing beyond my GC post – assuming we are obsessed with creating our ultimate selves, achieving our fullest potential… can we or rather should we take credit for it?

After all, weren’t we the ones who dreamt it up in the first place, persevered and suffered terrible obstacles to make our life’s greatest ambitions a reality? Can we even take credit for the planting of the seed before it has burst forth producing fruit?

Firstly <apart from God we can do nothing!>
It was Himself who put our dreams there in the first place, for we didn’t create ourselves nor give ourselves the capacity to do anything. We are a gift. A <didn’t need to be> but for Love, we be <we exist>. Considering all that is fallen within us, and remembering that if but for a moment He should cease to think of us – we would cease to be or ever have been… why should we even entertain the thought of taking credit for anything? And if the dreams are there (which if you are a human being they certainly are) how dare we deny them, suppress them and not take them as opportunities from our Blessed Lord to participate in creation through sub-creation?

Secondly <dare we not take our goals to our Blessed Lord?>
If they came from Him, why shouldn’t we go to Him and say to Him “this is on my heart… Lord what would you have me do? I am not afraid of the glory… I know in my fallen nature I would claim it for my own and bathe in it. But Your grace Lord perfects nature and so from the beginning through the BVM I give up the right of disposing all my spiritual and physical accomplishments for Your glory that she (BVM) would dispose them in the interests of Thy SH.” The question isn’t our perfection – that is a demand from our blessed Lord. The question is how does He want to bring this about and in what manner?

The pursuit of excellence for God’s sake builds in us virtue, increases grace and gives us opportunities to merit. There is a burning desire (I truly believe suppressed by most of us) to be great and if we pursue it for His sake, perhaps we will gain something greater still in the end.

No matter how great in the world I become, and I do plan on achieving the best version of me – my absolute fullest potential –  my prayer is that my life externally and internally points to God. I wish all my successes to be a sign pointing back at God and  pointing toward Him. Back, to give Him all the credit because He deserves it for up to this point in my life I’ve stolen my fair share of His glory and taken the credit. And forward, like a self fulfilling prophecy, pointing toward Him who I am determined to possess, know and love, just as He loves Himself, in eternity.

God Love You!

In Pursuit of Excellence

maxresdefaultI recently started reading a book by Grant Cardone (GC), called Be Obsessed or Be Average. I’d started reading the book on the advice of one of my mentors in business. Beginning this book I was and I wasn’t surprised how far my entrepreneurial thinking had deteriorated over the past 2 years. Grant is a self made multi millionaire and right from the beginning I began to challenge every single suggestion and even his very way of thinking. This is the first personal development book that I’ve read since 2014. My business thinking had definitely slipped in 2015 and I’d began to settle. 2016 turned out to be a disaster year and I’d felt like I was always playing catch up but never ahead. I knew something had to change.

I had decided that 2017 was going to be different – I’d begun preparing to change me in Advent. (ah new beginnings) I felt like I had an edge on the rest of the world by beginning my resolutions in Advent. It just so happened that after spiritual direction at the very beginning of the year, my director said something that I’d always known about myself – he flat out told me that I had an obsessive and addictive personality. It was… satisfying hearing it from him. He didn’t imply that because of this personality trait, I was doomed to fail but rather challenging me to identify the things in my life that we’re not worthy of my obsessive and addictive personality and to almost redirect that incredible power and energy toward the things that God was calling me to. Creativity and sub creation, to seek out and identify those things that would help me achieve my fullest potential. (At least this is what I heard in my head and so I ran with it)

As per my directors advice, I decided to seek out material to read about personalities like mine – I was surprised by most phycologist’s perspectives (all to negative and debbi downer..ish) so I turned away rather looking for more positive perspectives – I was far more interested in people who took their kryptonite and used it for good. Within a few days Grant’s book was recommended to me and now you have the whole back story.

Firstly, I am in now way an advocate for how Grant lives his life nor am I promoting him or any of his religious beliefs and all that he subscribes to. I will admit though – he is a brilliant business man. Instead taking my cue from St. Thomas Aquinas and how he studied Aristotle and Plato I decided to approach GC carefully, being mindful that aside from his many successes, this a person who is a self made multimillionaire that left the truth of the Catholic Church for the Church of Scientology. As a Catholic it made me sad, and I cant help but wonder what if GC obsessed about all things Catholic… perhaps he did, and I pray in the hope that one day he and his family would return home. His business and life advice however is easily applied to anything we wish. And why not take it and apply it.

After all St. Thomas did not reject Aristotle and Plato (the most brilliant minds in their day and age) nor their ideas simply because they were pagan; he studied them and took the truth that they had and applied it to further clarify and define the teachings of a multitude of things in this world. For example – he applied platonic ideas of Form and Matter, to explain how we come to define what takes place during the consecration at Holy Mass between substance and accidents etc.

Therefore I have not abandoned GC, but instead have decided to immerse my self in his writings and to see if I can achieve my fullest potential in business, family and health, while holding on tightly to the barque of St. Peter. All success in the world if won honestly comes with great suffering, and there is no greater gift than I can give to our lord than to suffer with a smile for His greater Glory! Some would be tempted to think they need to abandon their faith to reach his levels of success… and it would be foolish to draw that conclusion. His book is about reaching your full potential and in no way is he pushing religious beliefs.

Coming back to GC – being obsessive about life to reach your full potential is brilliant – especially since the majority of us have settled for and operate well below what we are truly capable of (both spiritually and materially).  St. Thomas said the same thing; he called it the pursuit of excellence – but to what end? The one thing GC is missing is the purposes end – everything we do we do for God’s sake, to know Him, love Him and serve Him so that one day we can behold Him. Matthew Kelly would call it becoming the best version of yourself… precisely to attain God; to hold him the beatific vision one day.

What if we could take the tenacity and obsessiveness of GC to build our lives to their fullest potential – and that includes massive amounts of success and wealth, not just monetarily, but in our family and in our health. And of course apply that obsession to the spiritual realm – all for the greater glory of God.

I have a burning desire to study the successful leaders of this world to take what they have and use it for God’s kingdom. As a businessman and entrepreneur I MUST pursue becoming my best and I like GC believe that success is my duty; I must take me and my company to its fullest potential to protect my treasure – the body & souls of my family and of course my own – all for the greater glory of God.

There is no reason a Catholic person should not be striving to achieve their fullest potential in all the areas of their life; spiritual life, family life, business life and health. Ultimately we are fighting a spiritual battle but we fight it in the world, in our families, in our business and health. Settling for average and mediocre in any one area is not fighting – its a soldier who’s given up on the battle –  meaning we do nothing for the kingdom of God. There are only 2 eternals – God and our eternal souls; the world is what bridges them. Either we will seek excellence in grace and virtue and greatness in all things, or we won’t. Our very best only comes through suffering in the material world and offering it for the salvation of our souls and others to finally achieve HIM is reaching our fullest potential (a Saint, who we are created to become). To do any less is to settle for average and mediocre.  Make no mistake – A saint, our fullest potential, the best version of our selves, is EXACTLY what Almighty God from all eternity intended for us to become when he conceived of us.

My thanks to Grant Cardone for waking me up and fueling my healthy obsessions.

Do not be afraid to become great in the world – Go become a Saint – the whole world is waiting.

To all of you and GC if you every do read this, know that I’m praying for you!
God Love You!

And The Violent Take It By Force

kingdomofheaven-study2

Success begins and is accomplished by acting on 2 beliefs:

1) The future can be better than the present.
2) We have the power to make it so.

To make it so requires violence toward the status quo. Things are as they are because all circumstances and actions have allowed it through an ongoing process to come to pass. To make it different requires will power to go against the grain, to go against the ongoing circumstances and happenings, and if necessary to go against people that would keep things the same.

Our biggest adversary is not however outside us, but rather inside us. It IS us. The cliche “our greatest enemy is ourselves” stands true.

Taking a lackadaisical approach to changing us is useless. The change never takes effect or hold; we only reaffirm that we’re victims of the things outside us and it is because of the things outside us that we are the way we are.

No. To win this battle requires first belief that we can change and second the [will]ingess to carry it out. Enter Violence => we must be ruthless with our imperfect self because our imperfect self knows us the best and will use whatever ammo it has on us to make us falter, give up or give in.

The best version of ourselves will take all our effort, absolutely everything we have, all our perseverance, patience and courage to continue the fight.

You were made for combat. You were made for winning. Go become the best version of yourself.

Unwavering Pursuit of Your Dreams

Have you ever wondered why you dream the kind of dreams you dream? We are the only creatures on the planet to dream the kind of dreams that we dream about. A dog or cat can dream about wanting more food but they certainly cannot dream about being a person of significance or leaving this world better than when they first arrived.

Living the Dream

Living the Dream

We human beings are born into this world with dreams of a certain kind. This is marvellous and scary all in one because if we study ourselves we’d find ALL people actually make REAL the things they dream of; albeit MOST people do so unintentionally. Existing in an endless Nightmare; that is reality for most people in their lives but first in their mind. Talk about a drain on the soul and spirit! The Body ALWAYS follows the Mind! Time and time again we manifest the thoughts we hold in our mind but sadly how few consciously think DAILY about where they are going and how AWESOME their life is CAN be and HOW they can make it a reality.

I’m proof that it does not need to be this way; things CAN change IF we want them to. It’s not easy but it is worth it. I must have said to my wife at least 10 times while we were on that yacht “Can you believe that this IS our life?” – I’m so glad I made a decision to change and grow to win.

How? By Replacing and reprogramming the stinking thinking that brought about the nightmare in the first place!

Put pen to paper daily and write out what you want your life to look like and who you want to be. Then read it aloud 2 times a day. Visualize it. Obsess over it! Hold it in your mind as often as you can for as long as you can. THEN GO WORK YOUR HINEY OFF TO GET IT! Be open to the opportunities as and when they come AND make sure you taste your dreams from time to time as a reward for the hard work you’ve put in. This is what it takes.

TRUST ME ON THIS… YOU BECOME THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF WHILE IN UNWAVERING PURSUIT OF YOUR DREAMS.

Dream great Dreams! Work hard to build them! Stop Existing and Start Living wonderful moments with your family! Don’t stop if you’re tired, stop when you’re finished. It’s worth it!

Know Why You Win AND Why You Lose

Is life really just a random set of circumstances and happenchance? I think most would disagree with that as we can claim our victories are our own doing. We win because we intended to win and followed a very set specific process to achieve that greatness.

AWARENESS

AWARENESS IS THE KEY TO PROFITABILITY

What about when we lose? Most of us would say and at one point I myself said that if I failed it wasn’t my fault. But how we do somethings is how we do everything. So if we can take credit for our wins why not our losses; far be it our fault should we fail? Rubbish! We followed a very set specific process to achieve that low and really it has EVERYTHING to do with our AWARENESS of WHY we Win and WHY we Lose in the first place.

Even when we Win, how many of us take the steps to make Winning habitual? It starts with a pen and paper, a quiet creative atmosphere and uninterrupted reflecting on WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED??  It only makes sense if we are EVER to repeat the success, wouldn’t you agree? The same would apply to Losing; if we do not want to repeat the Loss, we had better take stock of the poor processes that we repeatedly applied to get there.

Do it every time, and your re-write your life.  AWARENESS IS THE KEY TO PROFITABILITY; Know WHY you Win and WHY you Lose and begin PURPOSELY CREATING THE GREATNESS YOUR LIFE IS DESTINED FOR!
